MORA becomes a member of the Eurasian Confederation of Associations of Rights holders (EAKOП) after the exclusion from the Confederation of the National Association for the Protection of Intellectual Creation (ANPCI)

As a result of the successful work in the field of collective management of copyright and related rights and after the conclusion of partnerships with several collective management organizations in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan MORA at the end of last week he became a member of the Eurasian Confederation of Rights holders’ Associations (EAKOП) – an international non-governmental organization that includes national companies to manage various categories of copyright and / or related rights in European and Asian countries such as Russia, China, Turkey, etc.

The State Agency for Intellectual Property (AGEPI) was also represented at the general assembly meeting. The AGEPI representative mentioned that ANPCI does not have the status of a collective management organization for copyright and related rights from 2019.

Based on the ambiguous and unfair situation created in the field of copyright and related rights management, MORA is the collective management organization of copyright and related rights whose main objective is the transparent and equitable distribution of remuneration for copyright and related rights.

MORA through a complex of software applications can offer authors opportunities that they do not have at the moment, but most importantly – transparency. The accumulation and distribution of author’s remuneration is automated, and human interference in this process is minimal. MORA can open a new stage for the Republic of Moldova in the management of copyright and related rights.

These things also led EAKOП to unanimously accept the application for membership of MORA. As MORA becomes a member of international bodies and benefits from the experience and support of similar organizations, it will work for transparency and fairness in the management of copyright and related rights.
